How durable is the Monitor?

The Monitor is made from highly durable materials and will withstand everyday use. It is not water proof and like any electrical equipment it must not be used if it has become wet. It does contain sophisticated technology so take care not to drop or damage it, and always store it at room temperature, in a dry, safe place where no one can interfere with it.

Do I need to clean my Monitor?

Yes, but you should only clean the Test Stick Slot when the Monitor asks you to. It will display a Brush symbol or a 2 4 book symbol.

What happens if the batteries run low or go flat?

The Monitor will tell you when the batteries need replacing by showing the Battery Symbol on the Display Screen. You then have four weeks in which to change them. If you do not change the batteries within four weeks, the Monitor will continue to store your information but you will not be able to use the Monitor.

The 4 4 book symbol + Battery symbol will be displayed during this time. You must never leave your Monitor for longer than two hours without batteries in it. If you do, the Monitor's internal clock will be inaccurate. You should abstain from intercourse and call the PERSONA Line for further advice. It is important to put new batteries in as soon as you take the old ones out. Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time. You must use 1.5v AAA long life alkaline batteries. Do not use Nickel Cadmium batteries (rechargeable).*

Can I lend my Monitor to a friend?

NO. The Monitor can only make sense of one person's cycle at a time. Since everyone's cycle is different, and your Monitor has learnt about YOU, it cannot be used by anyone else unless the information stored within the Monitor is erased. However, as the Monitor has had used Test Sticks inserted into it, it is not recommended that it is passed on to another person for reasons of hygiene.

What should I do if my Monitor fails to work?

If you have any problems with your Monitor, please phone the PERSONA Line.

Can the information in the Monitor's memory be lost?

The PERSONA Monitor retains several months worth of your most recent cycle data. This data is constantly replaced as you continue to use your Monitor to ensure it has the most up to date information available. However, the Monitor depends on a constant supply of battery power in order to keep the internal clock accurate. For this reason you MUST always replace the batteries within four weeks of the Battery Symbol appearing. (Towards the end of this time the 4 4 book symbol + Battery symbol appears to show that the batteries are almost exhausted and must be replaced immediately.)

* We recommend Duracell AAA long-life alkaline batteries.
